Drawings
i'm at a place i never thought i'd be when it
comes to drawing. Not that i thought still life drawing was the
be-all/end-all, but this IS a departure for me. Here are the
latest drawings, my first venture into figure drawing. My instructor Tracy
Spadafora continues to help me push the artistic "envelope".

These drawings are shown in chronological
order. I have others i'll add at a later point but i'll be sure to place
them in the correct timeframe for you.

Now, i can't claim total
responsibility for Marco #5--he was a group effort. Let me
explain. The six of us art students had 3 minutes to start a
piece. It didn't matter what media we worked in. At the end of 3
minutes, we put down our tools and moved to the next easel, picked up the
chalk or charcoal, or paint and worked to improve the piece, and so on
until we had visited each person's station.
What you see in Marco #5
is my original drawing worked on by 5 other artists. It ended up
being the best work and the most fun of any exercise we'd had. |

Here, you can see i took
what i learned was my strongest skill, composition, and employed those
skills exhibited by the other artists: a true strong line, exquisite
shading, tension, background effects, and mood. |
